Jaeger LeCoultre Novelties: Watches and Wonders 2022
A new series of celestial watches deserves a spotlight at this event, celebrating the connections between cosmic phenomena, the origins of timekeeping and watchmaking innovation.
Master Hybris Artistica Calibre 945 Galaxia (rose gold) and Atomium (white gold)
Known to Jaeger LeCoultre enthusiasts since 2010, it is a minute repeater, a tourbillon displaying the sidereal day ( 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4.1 seconds), a celestial chart and a zodiacal calendar.
This year it was presented in white gold, in an edition limited to 5 pieces, and another version in rose gold, also limited to 5 pieces, with a totally different dial, black with grisaille enamel.
With a 45 mm case that is water-resistant to 50 metres it is equipped with the Cal 945, hand-wound, with 40 hours of power reserve.

Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948
A first in the Master Grande Tradition line is this World Time complication. With 43 mm white gold case, water-resistant to 50 metres. The dial is an example of artistic excellence with the oceans in guilloché blue lacquer and the continents on a skeletonised domed structure in champlevé enamel.
Around the dial, the flying tourbillon rotates every 24 hours. The automatic movement, Cal 948, has a power reserve of 48 hours.
Limited edition of 20 pieces.

Rendez-Vous Dazzling Star
A feminine watch that recreates the enchanting celestial phenomenon on the wrist, thanks to an entirely new mechanism designed in-house. Activated by wrist movement, the dazzling star appears on the dial at random moments - generally four to six times per hour - unpredictability that makes it even more special. Its display can also be triggered by turning the crown several times.
With an Aventurine dial, and 36 mm rose gold case, it is water resistant to 50 metres. The Cal 734 automatic movement has a power reserve of 70 hours.

Atmos Hybris Mechanica Calibre 590
This will be the big star of the Jaeger LeCoultre collection presented this year.
Four years of development were required to come up with a new calibre for this new Atmos, which shows the rotation of the Earth on its own axis, the orbits of the Earth around the Earth's axis and the Earth around the Sun, the Moon phases, the zodiacal calendar, night and day, the seasons and the months.
The complication of the Moon's phases sets a new record for Jaeger LeCoultre with an accuracy of one day every 5770 years.
With a cylindrical glass dome it is an impressive piece coming out of the Métiers Rares ateliers, hand-painted with the constellations and the ring of the moon phases in meteorite.
