For divers, timing was essential, and Breitling set out to create the most precise diving watch possible, eliminating all the features that were not essential for them to ensure their safety underwater. This minimalist watch was called Slow Motion. All that was left were simple lines, large luminescent indices, rectangular hands and a high-contrast dial ring - all to ensure maximum legibility. It was practical, yes. But what really captivated people was the design. The new Superocean recaptures the celebrated Slow Motion design codes, while also adding modern features such as an inlaid ceramic bezel and brightly coloured dials. The large hands and Super-LumiNova® luminescent indexes allow for excellent legibility underwater. The watch is water resistant to 300 metres (1000 feet), as well as shock, sand and salt water resistant. The bronze version has a special alloy that has excellent resistance to corrosion, but still develops a subtle patina over time - which makes the watch even more unique. The two strap options (rubber or metal) have a folding clasp that allows micro-adjustments of up to 15 mm, for easy use over neoprene shirts and wetsuits. Its scratch-resistant ceramic inlaid bezel will never show wear or discolouration. For added safety, the bevel is unidirectional on most sizes and bidirectional, with a patented zip, on the 46 mm version. Best of all, it's no longer just a dive watch - the new Superocean lets you do it all in style, whether it's surfing, swimming, going to the beach bar or out for dinner.
