The New Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Collection

The Panerai story is one of innovation in the service of creating tools for unfettered adventure.

The Submersible models are Panerai's true diving watches, with the traditional locking crown and generously sized cases resistant to great depths. Since its debut in 1998, this model was presented with a 47mm case, which is still in catalogue. In 2017 a 42mm version was presented. Currently, with the Submersible QuarantaQuattro models, an intermediate 44mm option is available. To date, there was only one Goldtech™ model in a 44mm case. The new models, however, are available in more affordable materials.

In the Submersible QuarantaQuattro collection all the watches are water resistant to 300 metres and feature an external unidirectional diving bezel. All pieces also use the P.900 automatic movement with three days of power reserve. This movement features a date complication at 3 o'clock, with the new window for increased legibility. All pieces use white Super-LumiNova and come with one rubber and one fabric bracelet (made from 30% and 68% recycled material respectively).

Known that the common features of these new references are, let's look at each of them:

PAM01232 Carbotech™ Blu Abisso

The PAM01232 Carbotech™ Blu Abisso uses the carbon fibre composite material called Carbotech™. This material brings lightness, durability, scratch and corrosion resistance. With a black DLC titanium crown and the screw-down caseback, it features a dark blue dial, which is due to the "abyss" reference in the name. The straps are in the same colour. 

PAM01226 Bianco

With its matt white dial and a stainless steel case with the bezel and crown in the same material. An extremely attractive watch, with its military green bracelets.

PAM01229 Black

PAM01229, also in stainless steel, is presented with a black dial and white and blue details, making it the great classic of this series. With a black rubber strap and another in dark grey fabric.

These models are joined by three watches produced in the new recycled material eSteel™, with the same properties as conventional steel, including identical chemical behaviour, physical structure and corrosion resistance. The PAM01289 Blue Profondo, the PAM01288 Grigio Roccia and the PAM01287 Verde Smeraldo.

Lastly, highlights include a unique special edition of 1500 units of the PAM01391 Luna Rossa, which celebrates the partnership between the manufacture and the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team that began in 2017. Panerai supports the team and draws inspiration from the Luna Rossa sailing technology to create watches that convey the sporting spirit of the racing Sailing universe.

With the debut of the Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro, the 44mm case will become iconic in the Submersible collection, combining the existing 47mm and 42mm sizes.

We are sure that this new case diameter will please many of the lovers of these luxury sports watches, because although a few millimetres may seem irrelevant, most of us know that this is not the case when choosing a watch that will be a companion for deep water or more cosmopolitan adventures.
