A more sustainable diver's watch
TAG Heuer Professional 200 Solargraph

TAG Heuer Professional 200 Solargraph

Launched last year at Watches & Wonders, the first TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph brought a new level of autonomy to the brand's sports watch.

As TAG Heuer's first ever solar-powered watch, the original Solargraph features a very bold design, with a black DLC-coated case and a highly scratch-resistant carbon bezel, with the blue luminescent numerals encased in green luminescent curves embedded in the carbon itself. A striking detail, with a very attractive colouring at night.

Currently the Aquaracer collection features two models designated Solargraph, equipped with the ultra-precise solar-powered quartz movement, the Calibre TH50-00.

The second watch recently unveiled in Singapore at LVMH Watch Week has a more traditional configuration, with a new ultra-light grade 2 titanium case and bracelet, the brushed dial and luminescent indexes. The change in material not only enhances the timepiece, but also makes it a more casual and less radical version than the previous one. The combination of material and design, titanium with a brushed finish, give this 40mm watch a very pleasing lightness and presence on the wrist.

Despite having a significantly different external construction from the Solargraph launch model, the dial and hands of the titanium version are identical. Against a semi-translucent black sun-finished surface with horizontal lines, black-finished markers filled with white Super-LumiNova are applied. On the edge of the dial, the minute scale printed in white is joined by small squares in polar blue marking the five-minute intervals. As before, the name "Solargraph" appears above the depth rating in polar blue lettering, and the date window at 3 o'clock.

The Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph with its long-lasting battery is not the first solar-powered watch. Produced in collaboration with Citizen-owned La Joux-Perret, who created the concept, it is a solar watch with all the TAG Heuer DNA that echoes the key attributes and history of the Aquaracer collection.

A combination quite evident, notably in the dial design where the horizontal lines are semi-transparent to allow light to feed the TH50-00 movement, which will run for six months with 20 hours of exposure to light, sun or artificial, or a full day with just 2 minutes of exposure.

It should also be noted that a solar-powered movement guarantees significantly longer intervals of autonomy compared to a traditional quartz watch, offering the same durability and practicality of this technology.

TAG Heuer has remained at the forefront of Swiss haute horlogerie, with a reputation for outstanding quality, iconic collections and exemplary value for money. These new Aquaracer Solargraph represent their cutting-edge manufacturing philosophy, at the pinnacle of technical innovation, and their commitment to sustainability.
